Digital signage software for LG webOS 3–9 displays

Our integration relies heavily on SCAP (Signage Content Access Protocol) APIs, with version-specific implementations for webOS 2.0 through 6.0. The system dynamically loads the correct SCAP libraries based on the detected webOS version, ensuring maximum compatibility and functionality.

We provide comprehensive display control through SCAP APIs, including:

LG panels report fan failure, backlight or screen failure, signal loss, overheating, a fallen or tilted panel and an opened door as device errors in the CMS. The state of every HDMI, DisplayPort and VGA port is reported too, so a broken cable shows up on a screen that otherwise looks “online, playing”. Every error has a code from one shared catalogue of more than 200.

One player finds the LG panels on the local network, installs impressBox, sets their clocks and can reinstall over an old version.

LG firmware updates run over the LAN from a curated list that matches model and webOS version and never guesses, five panels at a time, with progress in the CMS: recommend, confirm, update. More in remote field service.

Volume control is implemented through native webOS sound APIs, offering full mute and unmute capabilities directly from our platform.

ImpressPlayer for webOS uses internal storage paths with specific folder structures for downloads and application data, ensuring optimized and reliable file management on the device.
