BrightSign
Digital signage software for BrightSign players
impressBox runs on BrightSign Series 4 and 5 players from the SD card, so BrightSign hardware works with a cloud CMS, a built-in AI agent, remote diagnostics and proof of play instead of BrightAuthor.
What impressBox adds to a BrightSign player
The player hardware stays; what changes is where the content is managed and what you can ask of each screen.
Installed from the SD card
BrightSign players have no app store. You copy the impressBox player package to the SD card, switch the player on and link it to your account.
A cloud CMS for BrightSign hardware
Content, playlists and schedules are managed in the impressBox dashboard, in the cloud or on your own infrastructure, instead of in BrightAuthor.
The AI agent and the MCP server
Publish, schedule and check BrightSign screens by asking in plain language, from the dashboard, WhatsApp, Slack or your own AI assistant.
Remote diagnostics
Status, logs and network checks for each player from the dashboard; no site visit to find out why a screen is dark.
Proof of play
Playback is logged per screen and per file, for advertisers and for your own checks.
Ask, instead of clicking
Examples of what the impressBox AI Agent does with BrightSign screens.
“Which BrightSign players have not reported in the last hour?”
Lists the players that are offline or silent, with their last contact time.
“Play this file on every screen in the Riga stores from Monday to the end of the month.”
Adds the file to the right playlists with start and end dates.
“Take a screenshot of the lobby screen.”
Shows what the player is rendering right now.
Frequently asked questions
Which BrightSign players does impressBox run on?
BrightSign Series 4 and Series 5 players. The player is installed from the SD card; see the BrightSign setup guide.
Can we use BrightSign players without BrightAuthor?
Yes. With impressBox on the SD card, the player runs the impressBox player and is managed from the impressBox dashboard or the AI agent. BrightAuthor and BrightAuthor:connected are not needed for day-to-day work.
Can BrightSign players and other screens be in one network?
Yes. The same dashboard runs BrightSign players next to LG webOS, Samsung Tizen, Android displays, Raspberry Pi and desktop players, with the same playlists and schedules. See supported hardware.
What does it cost?
The software player starts at €15 per screen per month on a 36-month term, excluding VAT. See pricing.
