Supported Samsung displays: SSSP, Tizen and Orsay

Samsung names its signage platform by generation: SSSP 2 and 3 run Orsay, SSSP 4 to 11 run Tizen 2.4 to 7.0, and from Tizen 8 Samsung calls it Tizen Enterprise Platform (TEP). One series code covers all screen sizes of that family, so QM55B and QM65B are both QMB.

Questions about Tizen digital signage

How is impressBox installed on a Tizen display?

With Samsung’s URL Launcher: set Play Via to URL Launcher, install the web app from the impressBox address, then pair the screen with the 6-digit code it shows. No APK file is needed. See the Samsung Tizen setup guide.

Which Samsung SSSP and Tizen versions does impressBox support?

impressBox runs in production on Samsung signage displays from the older Orsay platform (SSSP 2 and 3) to Tizen 7.0 (SSSP 11), installed through URL Launcher on Tizen. The table on this page lists each generation with its display series.

Does impressBox use MagicInfo?

No. During setup, the display’s Play Via setting is switched to URL Launcher, so it loads impressBox as a web app instead of playing from HDMI or MagicInfo. If you are leaving MagicINFO, see moving from MagicINFO.

What can impressBox control on a Samsung display?

Display on and off through panel mute in Samsung’s B2B control APIs, and volume and mute through Tizen’s audio APIs. See hardware control.

Is the data of our Samsung screens hosted in the EU?

Can I manage Samsung Tizen screens with the AI agent?
