Hikvision Setup via USB

Use this method if you want a quick manual installation without ADB or complex network configuration.

Step 1: Download APK

  1. Open a web browser on your computer.
  2. Navigate to the download link below.
  3. Save the file as impressbox-player.apk to your computer.

Always use the official link to ensure you have the most recent secure version.

Step 2: Copy to USB Drive

  1. Insert a USB flash drive into your computer.
  2. ImportantEnsure the drive is formatted as FAT32. NTFS or exFAT may not be recognized by all Android versions.
  3. Copy the downloaded impressbox-player.apk file to the root folder of the USB drive.
  4. Safely eject the USB drive from your computer.

FAT32 Format Recommended

Place APK in the root directory for easy access.

Step 3: Insert USB into Display

  1. Locate the USB ports on your Hikvision display (usually on the side or back panel).
  2. Insert the USB flash drive.
  3. On the display remote, press Home to exit any running content.
  4. Locate and open the FileBrowser or FileManager app from the app drawer.
  5. Select your USB storage device from the list of available drives.

Step 4: Install APK

  1. Navigate to the impressbox-player.apk file you copied.
  2. Select the file and press OK on your remote.
  3. A prompt will appear. Select Install.

    Note: If prompted to "Allow installation from unknown sources", select Settings, enable the permission for FileBrowser, and try again.

  4. Wait for the "App Installed" success message.
  5. Select Done (do not open yet).

Step 5: Enable Auto Start

To ensure your signage runs automatically after a power cut or reboot:

  1. Go to Settings on the main menu.
  2. Navigate to App Management (or simply "Apps").
  3. Select Run at Startup (or "Boot Start").
  4. Find impressBox Player in the list.
  5. Check the box or toggle the switch to ON / Enabled.
  6. Reboot the screen to verify it launches automatically.

Installation Complete!

You should now see the impressBox pairing code on your screen. You can now add this screen to your dashboard.
